Well, well, well. What can I say. I am proud of you, America. It's been a while since I could say that. I know we have a lot of work to do but it feels good to be an American again. Watching that speech last night was like watching the end of a tearjerker of an amazing movie, only it was real. Then they go in and throw in the thing about the puppy. (A puppy that eats terrorists and poops jobs for everyone, no doubt.) Can we name this dog Maverick, please? Thank you.
But seriously, this fucking rocks. That's all I got. It's still soaking in.

Obama has a big plate before him, and until I see his promises for America fulfilled, I won't be clapping, singing, or dancing.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that he does well. America does need to be kicked in the ass. Is Obama the right guy to do that? I don't know. I guess we will know one way or another in 4 years.
I definitely thing good things are coming our way. I was speaking with a client of mine overseas today and he asked what I thought of Obama's win. I told him we are thrilled, what do you all think over there?

I agree w/ both of you (Gab, sister sadist). We've lived up to our part, now he must live up to his, but I also don't want to overstate the power that a president has. At any rate, he's brought optimism/hope to many and I feel redeemed after the past eight years of hopelessness. Now that we all feel like we can move forward, we must do it together. I think I'm the last one that would romanticize a politician because in the end, they're politicians, after all, so I do understand what you mean. However, I almost choke on the irony when I see comments by Bush/McCain supporters suggest that we're going to be doomed. Has anyone been paying attention the past several or more years? Eh, whatever. Now that this election is over, I suppose we should focus on bigfoot sightings, sex tapes and.....a combination of those things? I dunno. We'll figure it out. I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteMaybe....a big foot sex tape? with the loch ness monster? I agree with you on there being a lot to do, and not overestimating him. But optimism is a damn good start. It's more than we've had in the past 8 years.
