The folks at Guiness are selflessly spearheading this effort to give you the day off on St. Patrick's Day.
As the website says:
"Never before has the Irish spirit been so alive inside of so many U.S. residents," the website states. "Guinness and Proposition 3-17 supporters believe that a regulated, official holiday would not only reduce the amount of employees missing work in order to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but officially allow people to express their Irishness."
There are currently over 100,000 signatures. They need 1 million to bring the 'issue' to congress. Do your civic duty.

I personally think it makes more sense to have the day after become National Hangover Day. Where's the petition for that?
